Last weekend, I participated in Ludum Dare 19, the latest run of the popular 48-hour game development competition. The selected theme for the event was “Discovery,” which has inspired an even greater number of entries than last time. The total came to 243 competition entries, and an additional 42 entries for the casual Jam event. Despite a few setbacks, I was able to complete my entry, Strange Lands, in time and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. The object of the game is to eliminate the enemy before he eliminates yours. The twist is that the player has no idea where the enemy is, or how to reach him. As usual, I had a great time with it, and I look forward to playing the games and seeing the results.
